An Introduction to Canadian History

Understanding Canadian History

Understanding Canadian history is a key aspect of this course. In my couple of months of being in this course, I really had to challenge myself, I learned about amazing things that I never knew about and I kept an open mind throughout the entire course. One thing that I have learned is to not let my prior experience or judgment alter what my learning to its greatest extent. Like I said earlier as well, to keep an open mind in this course is one of the best traits you can inherit. There are so many different perspectives along with many cultures that interpret events of history slightly differently. To keep an open mind, it allows yourself to understand the history to its full potential. Canadian history is something that every Canadian should grasp, It changes your view on a lot of key aspects in history, you start to experience places differently and incorporate what you’ve learned into your adventures when visiting historic sites. Pre Confederation Canadian history is really exciting and worth it, in the end, to see how this country that we call home was established.

This E-portfolio is a collection of many documents and analysis of Pre Confederation Canada. However, I have my own research paper dedicated to the Enslaved Africans of Upper Canada.
